Hello!I’\m Naduni Weerasinghe from Sri Lanka and I teach Sinhala, my native language. I chose teaching as my profession because it allows me to make a real difference in my students’ lives, which is one of the most satisfying things I’ve done. I\’m doing English, Civics, Geography and Sinhala classes for my local students. And also I\’m doing basic Sinhala Spoken classes for non-native speakers. I follow a student-centered approach in my lessons. But for this to work, my students have to be engaged in their studies. In this way, it will be easier for them to concentrate and memorize new words in their target language and use them in their daily lives. I always try to accommodate my student’s needs and interests to keep them motivated. For example, most of my students want to develop their speaking skills and practice day-to-day conversations. So, I always do my best to help them improve their oral skills in the fastest and easiest way possible. Overall, I love that I can meet lots of people from around the world and we can learn about each other’s culture. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to make good friends.
